Every item that you see in our online boutique is carefully selected or made exclusively for Elizabetta in Italy from small manufacturers, mostly in Como where there still exists a tradition of silk and other high end fabric production, much of which is made into beautiful scarves, shawls and other fashion accessories.
Why Italy?
Simply, Italians make beautiful things and Italians love fashion and quality.
The small plants that Elizabetta buys from produce small quantities of beautiful fabric and fashion accessories at least twice a year. They pay their employees proper wages and benefits and they respect the current pollution and safety laws of Europe. They have centuries of experience making quality fabrics, changing patterns and styles frequently.
Elizabetta always looks for items that are not only beautiful, but also represent a good balance between cost and quality. How an item feels is important too…it’s why hand selecting is so important, it’s the only way to tell if the cost is right for the item, and the fabric is as it should be.
Silk organza should be crisp, silk satin should be ever so slippery, cashmere should be made with long fibers so it doesn’t pill after its first wash and so on.
